Modular construction is a method of building structures in which entire sections of a building are manufactured in a factory as modules that have a floor, walls, and ceiling and are finished both inside and outside the module to the standard of finish ordered by the customer. The finished modules are transported on trucks to the construction site, where the foundations and service connections must be prepared in advance. The modules are lifted off the truck by a crane and placed on the foundation, then bolted together and secured to the foundation. At the construction site, all that remains is to connect the services between the modules, connect them to the supplied connections, and finish the house, depending on the standard of finish ordered by the customer.
